General Description
The Kiremko CRL 750 is an industrial potato chip processing line designed to process raw potatoes through preparation, peeling, slicing, washing/dewatering, continuous frying, frying-oil filtration and circulation, inspection, and downstream mixing/seasoning. The original Kiremko documentation covers installation, operation, cleaning, maintenance, fryer adjustment, temperature and dwell-time settings, bearing service, and parts ordering.
Process Description
Potato Preparation and Peeling
Raw potatoes are introduced into the processing system and transferred through the preparation section. The line incorporates an abrasive batch peeling system with a carborundum-covered peeling drum for removal of the potato skin.
Slicing
The documented equipment includes two Urschel CC slicers, each supplied with a slicing head. The dual-slicer arrangement provides industrial-capacity slicing of potatoes prior to washing, dewatering and frying.
Washing and Dewatering
The sliced potatoes proceed through the washing and dewatering section. A water cleaning unit and dewatering vibrator remove surface water and prepare the slices for controlled introduction into the fryer.
Continuous Frying
The principal processing machine is the Kiremko continuous potato crisp fryer. The original manual identifies procedures for fryer start-up and shutdown, raising the fryer hood, setting frying-fat temperature, adjusting dwell time, and operating the associated filtration system.
Frying Oil Management
The line incorporates an insulated belt filter, frying-oil circulation system, and an external thermal-oil/frying-oil heat exchanger. This arrangement provides continuous oil circulation, removal of product fines and controlled external heating of the frying oil.
Inspection and Seasoning
The Kiremko documentation identifies a roller inspection belt and a mixing drum in the downstream section. The mixing drum provides continuous product tumbling suitable for seasoning application before transfer to downstream packaging equipment.
